President Stevo Pendarovski presented today, in “Vila Vodno”, the “Engineering Ring” award to the most successful graduates in the field of engineering disciplines in the Republic of North Macedonia.
The Engineering Ring, whose goal is recognition, but also affirmation of the engineering professions and incentive for the formation of quality engineering youth, is awarded by the Engineering Institution of Macedonia and the Chamber of Certified Architects and Certified Engineers, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia. This year, winners of the award are 8 graduate engineers from different fields.
In his address, President Pendarovski stressed the importance of engineering in creating the overall future of any society.
“We live in a world that is changing rapidly and which is dependent on modern technologies that open up new perspectives, but also a world that is vulnerable and fragile, which is especially shown by the current Covid-19 pandemic. As future engineers, you are part of our human potential on which the future of our country must be based”, President Pendarovski said.
According to the President, whether they are architects, engineers, computer scientists, technologists, electrical technicians, civil, agricultural or forestry engineers, their professional challenge is to achieve personal development, but also progress for the wider community in which they live.
“I hope that most of you will continue to upgrade, progress and achieve professionalism in your homeland. For that to happen, all preconditions must be created by relevant entities: state institutions, education system, business community, for your future and professional development to be linked to the home country”, President Pendarovski said, wishing the young engineers further success and be a driving force that will enable progress and a society of prosperity.
The “Engineering Ring” is awarded for the 17th time to 178 graduate engineers so far.
