Today, President Stevo Pendarovski received the credentials of Archbishop Luciano Suriani, newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the Holy See for the Republic of North Macedonia, based in Sofia.
At the solemn ceremony, President Pendarovski expressed his satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Holy See, evaluating them as a reflection of mutual understanding and sincere respect, reaffirmed during the visit of His Holiness, Pope Francis, in May 2019.
“The Republic of North Macedonia, with its historical past, with its authentic and everyday experience of coexistence and tolerance, and with its contemporary position, as a respected member of the international community, fully contributes to building understanding and respect for cultures from around the world. Such determination will represent another bridge in the relations between our two countries”, said President Pendarovski.
In his address, Apostolic Nuncio Suriani expressed satisfaction for the beginning of his mission in North Macedonia.
“For my part, I will fully invest in strengthening and deepening the already well-established relations that we have between the Holy See and the Republic of North Macedonia,” said Apostolic Nuncio Suriani in his address.
President Pendarovski wished Archbishop Suriani a successful performance of his responsible mission.
