Today, President Stevo Pendarovski received the members of the Commission for monitoring the implementation of the Government’s recommendation for language coverage of the official language of broadcasters rebroadcasting sports program content in the territory of North Macedonia.
The status of the implementation of this recommendation was discussed at the meeting. The interlocutors referred to the legal regulation on this issue in the Law on Audiovisual Media Services, as well as the European regulation for cross-border televisions, which is indicated in our Law as authoritative for this issue.
The members of the Commission informed President Pendarovski about the outcome of the talks with the operators that broadcast sports channels, in the context of implementation of the localization, especially the analysis of the agreements for the licensing rights related to the territory of our country.
