President Pendarovski receives a delegation from Vermont National Guard

The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today a delegation of the US Vermont National Guard, led by Guard Commander Colonel Gregory Knight.

The meeting expressed satisfaction with the long-standing successful cooperation between the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and the National Guard of Vermont through joint participation in peacekeeping missions, conducting joint exercises, training and education of the members of both armies. During the past 25 years the two friendly countries have conducted more than 400 joint trainings involving more than 450 members of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia.

President Pendarovski said that by signing the Prespa Agreement, North Macedonia has made a big step forward and expressed expectation that the procedure for ratification of the Protocol for NATO membership of North Macedonia by the US Congress will be completed soon.

Full-fledged membership of the Republic of North Macedonia in NATO, as President Pendarovski said, will contribute to further deepening of the cooperation with the Vermont National Guard and the United States as a strategic partner of the state.

President Pendarovski used today’s meeting to stress that North Macedonia is committed to improving the relations with the United States of America and that it will continue to contribute to the fight against terrorism and other threats globally.
