President Pendarovski receives credentials of newly appointed Ambassador of Japan

President Stevo Pendarovski received today the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan, Hironori Sawada.

At the solemn ceremony of presenting the credentials, President Pendarovski expressed readiness to intensify the political dialogue between North Macedonia and Japan and expressed hope for deepening the overall cooperation.

“I sincerely hope that during your upcoming diplomatic mission, the Macedonian-Japanese friendship will be further deepened, especially by intensifying the economic relations and opening new opportunities for attracting Japanese investments in the Republic of North Macedonia. We are open for cooperation in all other domains – culture, education, science and technology”, the President said in his address.

President Pendarovski expressed gratitude to the Japanese Government for its continued support through the implementation of numerous projects in several sectors in our society, infrastructure projects, health and education sector, as well as assistance received to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his address, Ambassador Sawada stressed that Japan highly appreciates the efforts of the Republic of North Macedonia for stability and prosperity in the region and expressed determination to strengthen mutual cooperation and promote friendship on a bilateral and multilateral level.

President Pendarovski wished the newly appointed Ambassador success in performing his responsible diplomatic mission and expressed hope that he would contribute to a more dynamic development of mutual relations, for which he expressed full support, assistance and cooperation.
