The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today representatives of the Citizens Association of Textile, Leather and Shoe Workers “Glasen Tekstilec” from Stip.
The interlocutors informed President Pendarovski of the problems and challenges that these workers face, such as working hours, the Labor Inspectorate, inhumane working conditions. At the meeting, they also shared ideas, projects and realized activities aimed at promoting the rights of workers in the textile, leather and shoe industries.
One of the main commitments of the Association, as the President was informed at the meeting, is to provide workers in these industries with the opportunity for a better education, in order to improve their awareness and increase public awareness of workers’ rights in these areas.
President Pendarovski stressed that one of his main goals is to foster policies that enable a dignified life for every worker in North Macedonia, as workers’ rights are fundamental values on which all other civil rights are built.
Expressing support for their activities, the President also commended their commitment to promoting and upholding the highest standards of honesty and accountability, zero-tolerance policy in cases of fraud and corruption.
