President Stevo Pendarovski received today Zara Nazarian, Secretary General of the international Francophone Press Union, who is paying a visit to the Republic of North Macedonia on the occasion of the establishment of the Francophone Association of Macedonian Journalists as a full member of the International Francophone union.
At the meeting, Secretary General Nazarian briefed President Pendarovski on the ongoing activities of the Francophone Press Union and its commitment to promoting cultural and linguistic diversity and European values of freedom of speech as one of the fundamental benefits of democratic societies.
Welcoming the establishment of the Francophone Association of Journalists in North Macedonia, President Pendarovski stressed the importance of Macedonian journalists’ membership in the Union, as an opportunity for institutional cooperation within the European Union, as well as exchange of experiences for continuous development of ethical values and professional standards and principles.
