The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today a group of students from the Swiss UMEF University of Geneva, who are paying a study visit to the FON University in Skopje.
Welcoming them, President Pendarovski presented the work of the institution, his rights and duties in the domestic and foreign policy and the role of the President within the division of power in the country.
President Pendarovski presented to the students, coming from the faculties of economics and political science and diplomacy, the position of the authorities in North Macedonia, their main competences, as well as the specifics of the political system in the country.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski introduced the students to the main strategic goals of the state, defined since the declaration of its independence, namely membership in the European Union and NATO. Promoting good neighborly relations and regional cooperation, President Pendarovski told the students, are also among the key foreign policy goals of the Republic of North Macedonia.
President Pendarovski informed the students from Switzerland of the implementation of several of his projects, including the Open Cabinet, as well as the efforts to adopt and implement appropriate programs and policies to improve the position of young people and provide prospects in their own country.
The students informed President Pendarovski about the purpose of their study visit and the activities during their stay in Skopje.
