President Stevo Pendarovski received today the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of North Macedonia, resident in Belgrade, Kamil Khasiyev.
At the ceremony of presenting the letters of credence, President Pendarovski expressed confidence that Khasiyev, with his professional engagement, will contribute to the further advancement of cooperation between the two countries, whose relations are based on friendship, respect and mutual understanding.
“Let me emphasize our sincere willingness to deepen bilateral relations and mutual cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. I assure you that we will continue with all the necessary activities and initiatives to achieve these goals and to advance the bilateral political dialogue, as well as the initiatives to strengthen and expand the areas of cooperation”, President Pendarovski said in his welcome address.
In his address, Ambassador Khasiyev pointed out that the political relations between the two countries are developing in an upward direction, but that it is necessary to deepen economic cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture, tourism and investments, where he will focus his personal efforts and engagements.
We believe that political relations will continue to strengthen based upon respect of the norms and principles of international law, the UN Charter and the OSCE Helsinki Final Act of the, in particular those pertaining to sovereignty, territorial integrity and the inviolability of international borders”, Ambassador Khasiyev said.
President Pendarovski wished Ambassador Khasiyev success in his diplomatic mission and expressed readiness for his full support in the performance of his responsible office.
