President Stevo Pendarovski received today the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to the Republic of North Macedonia, resident in Budapest, Ignacio Ruiz Perea.
At the ceremony of handing over the letters of credence, President Pendarovski stressed that the appointment of Ruiz Perea as the new ambassador is proof of the traditional friendship that connects our two countries and expressed hope that this friendship in the coming period will continue to be successfully deepened in all areas of mutual interest, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
“The Republic of North Macedonia pays more and more attention to the development of relations with the countries of Central and South America, as a region with exceptionally great opportunities and development perspectives. Despite the regional affiliation of two different geographical entities, I am deeply convinced that there is a significant and authentic interest among the governments of both countries for increased engagement, as well as for further joint efforts in view of overall improvement of relations and cooperation between the two countries”, President Pendarovski stressed in his welcome address.
In his address, Ambassador Ruiz Perea said that Colombia highly values the commitment of our country to the European integration and the commitment to peace and stability in the Western Balkans region, and expressed readiness for the promotion of bilateral relations, cooperation in international organizations and the development of overall cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
At the solemn ceremony, President Pendarovski expressed his support and wished the Ambassador success in performing his diplomatic mission.
