President Pendarovski receives the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Malta, Mary Scicluna

President Stevo Pendarovski had a video conversation today with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the Republic of North Macedonia, Mary Scicluna, on the occasion of presenting the letters of credence, which, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, were submitted via diplomatic channels.

In the talk with the newly appointed Ambassador of Malta, President Pendarovski welcomed the intensified political dialogue between the North Macedonia and Malta and expressed his expectation that the positive development of bilateral relations will result in concrete cooperation in several areas of mutual interest.

The interlocutors pointed out that the two countries have great potential for advancing the cooperation in the field of economy, health, culture, education and tourism. For that purpose, it is necessary to further expand the legal framework.

President Pendarovski thanked Malta for its sincere support on the path of European integration of North Macedonia, pointing out that the exchange of experiences in the reform process is always welcome.

At the meeting, the President pointed out that a large number of citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia live and work in Malta, being a community that is an important bridge for further rapprochement between the two countries.

President Pendarovski wished Ambassador Scicluna successful performance of her diplomatic duties and expressed confidence that her efforts will contribute to further strengthening of the cooperation between the two countries.
