President Pendarovski receives the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ami Larsson Jain

President Stevo Pendarovski received today the Letters of Credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of North Macedonia, Ami Larsson Jain.

At the ceremony of presenting the credentials, President Pendarovski said that the two countries are continuously building partnership relations, which are reflected not only through the high level of political dialogue, but also through the cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Expressing gratitude for the consistent support from the Kingdom of Sweden for Macedonian European integration, President Pendarovski said that the opening of the accession negotiations of North Macedonia with the European Union is of key importance for accelerating the reform agenda in the country.

“The Kingdom of Sweden will preside over the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2023, and I am convinced that the support for the integration of the Republic of North Macedonia will continue at an unabated pace”, President Pendarovski noted.

Ambassador Larsson Jain said that bilateral cooperation is at a satisfactory level in many areas of common interest, such as democracy, gender equality and the environment.

The newly appointed Ambassador expressed her gratitude for the quick and strong support of North Macedonia for the ratification of the protocols for the accession of the Kingdom of Sweden to NATO, as well as for the principled positions of North Macedonia in the context of democracy and the rule of law on the European continent.

President Pendarovski wished Ambassador Ami Larsson Jain success in her important diplomatic mission in the country.
