President Stevo Pendarovski received today the letters of credence of Alfredo Nestor Atanasoff, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to the Republic of North Macedonia, resident in Sofia.
At the ceremony of presenting the credentials, President Pendarovski said that the two countries, although geographically distant, share the same values of democracy, respect for human rights, environmental protection and effective multilateralism, with a strong focus on integral human development.
Stressing that last year and this year the world faced the biggest health crisis, and the pandemic showed us that countries will not be able to fully deal with the virus if there is no international solidarity and strong cooperation, President Pendarovski said that no country can save itself, but together and in solidarity.
“As a responsible member of the international community, the Republic of North Macedonia attaches importance to relations with all countries, for the good of our peoples, ensuring and strengthening world peace, as well as sustainable development and economic prosperity”, President Pendarovski said.
In that regard, President Pendarovski stressed that the Republic of North Macedonia is ready to develop and promote bilateral relations, especially in the field of culture, education, agriculture and economy.
Ambassador Atanasoff noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1999, excellent bilateral relations have been built based on common interests and shared values with a strong commitment to jointly contribute to creating a more cooperative, secure and prosperous world. He added that mutual cooperation within international organizations is one of the main achievements of the two countries.
Assessing that the building of ties between the two countries is possible thanks to the close relations between the two peoples, Ambassador Atanasoff stressed that the cooperation in the field of culture, especially in the field of literature with translated works by Argentine writers by Macedonian translators is important.
“I am convinced that Argentines and Macedonians will be able to further strengthen the ties in other relevant areas, such as economy and trade, and in this regard, the Argentine Embassy is fully prepared to explore and undertake mutually beneficial activities for both countries”, Ambassador Atanasoff said.
President Pendarovski wished the newly appointed Ambassador success in performing his responsible diplomatic function.
