President Pendarovski receives the Czech Ambassador, Miroslav Toman

The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Miroslav Toman.

The two interlocutors discussed the further improvement of the overall relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Czech Republic, our Euro-Atlantic integration processes, as well as the latest developments in the region.

At the meeting, President Pendarovski and Ambassador Toman expressed satisfaction with the friendly relations between the two countries, which are based on respect and understanding, and reiterated their readiness to deepen and enhance the bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Regarding the process of integration into the European Union and NATO, President Pendarovski stressed that North Macedonia highly appreciated the open and clear support from the Czech Republic, adding that, in the next period, it is necessary to continue the open door policy of the EU, which is shared by the Czech Republic, for the sake of security, stability and prosperity of the entire region.

The meeting also discussed the Balkan migrant route, with President Pendarovski emphasizing the contribution of the Czech Republic in equipment and resources in support of the security forces of North Macedonia for successful control of our southern border and expressing the expectation for further close cooperation in the field of defense and security.

Ambassador Toman congratulated President Pendarovski on his assuming of office and wished him success in his work, adding that he will work further on building friendship and partnership between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Czech Republic.
