The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today Ivo Vajgl, MP in the European Parliament and Rapporteur for the Republic of North Macedonia in the European Parliament.
At the meeting, they exchanged views on the overall political situation in the Republic of North Macedonia, the current reform process in the context of the country’s integration into the European Union, as well as the political situation in the European Union after the elections for the European Parliament.
President Pendarovski highly assessed the support that the European Parliament provides for the integration of the Republic of North Macedonia in the European Union. The two interlocutors agreed on the need for the European Council to recognize the efforts of the Republic of North Macedonia and the internal and external progress and to decide on the start of accession negotiations.
President Pendarovski thanked for the overall support of MEP Vajgl for the integration of the Republic of North Macedonia into the European Union and for his work as the country’s Rapporteur in the European Parliament. President Pendarovski wished MP Vajgl, whose term as a Member of the European Parliament expires on July 1, success in his future engagement and expressed confidence that his friendly support for the Republic of North Macedonia will continue in the future.
