President Pendarovski receives the organizers of the international sports event Ohrid Ultra-Trail 2021

President Stevo Pendarovski received today the representatives of the organizing team of the international sports event Ohrid Ultra-Trail 2021.

The organizers stressed that this sporting event, which focuses on sustainable use of existing hiking trails and forest paths within the borders of the Galicica National Park, is extremely important for the development of tourism. But also it encourages other related branches to promote their services to the participants and tourists.

President Pendarovski expressed support for Ohrid Ultra-Trail 2021, pointing out that in addition to the sports dimension, it contributes to the international promotion of natural, cultural and historical values ​​of the Galicica National Park and the City of Ohrid.

Reaffirming the commitment to affirmation of all sports activities in the country, as an important factor in building a healthy society, President Pendarovski stressed that Ohrid Ultra-Trail 2021 has the potential to include and unite all segments of society, even in the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, President Pendarovski expressed hope that the pandemic will soon subside and that international sporting event will be held in accordance with the planned program, according to which over 400 athletes from 30 countries are expected to participate.

Ohrid Ultra-Trail will be held for the third year in a row in the Galicica National Park and the Prespa-Ohrid region. This edition of mountain ultra-running, which is to be held from 14 to 16 May next year, includes 4 races with distances of 107 km, 66 km, 40 km and 20 km.
