The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today Xhemali Saiti, President of the Association of Judges and Judge in the Supreme Court of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The meeting focused on the challenges faced by judges in performing their responsible duties, as well as on the development processes in this area aimed at strengthening and guaranteeing independence, autonomy and objectivity of the judiciary. In this context, the President of the Association Saiti informed President Pendarovski of their activities in view of encouraging the development of the judiciary by promoting the laws on the overall organization and work of the courts.
President Pendarovski said that main precondition for progress of each state is precisely the rule of law, i.e. unbiased and independent judiciary that will implement the laws professionally, fairly and impartially.
These, the President said, are benefits from which, directly or indirectly, all citizens in the Republic of North Macedonia are affected. The consistent practice of the rule of law is of vital interest to our citizens, President Pendarovski said, underlining that it is one of the key requirements of the European Union, in anticipation of setting a date for the start of the accession negotiations with our country.
