President Stevo Pendarovski received today the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Sentop, who is paying a visit to the Republic of North Macedonia.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the overall bilateral relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Turkey, which take place in the spirit of strong traditional friendship and partnership, through cooperation at all levels.
President Pendarovski expressed confidence that with the NATO alliance the two countries contribute to stability and security in the region. Both interlocutors expressed expectation for further deepening of the Macedonian-Turkish bilateral relations, in all spheres of mutual interest, including the parliamentary cooperation.
At the meeting, opinions and information were exchanged on the current situation in both countries, including in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as on the overall situation in the region.
President Pendarovski expressed gratitude for Turkey’s overall assistance in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, stressing the importance of solidarity, cooperation and mutual support by states as an important precondition for successfully dealing with the consequences of the global pandemic.
