President Stevo Pendarovski, on the occasion of the celebration of December 5 – International Volunteer Day, talked today with volunteers from different regions and organizations in the Republic of North Macedonia.
The conversation was attended by volunteers from the Red Cross, UNICEF, the Union of Scouts of Macedonia, the SANO Association, as well as students from the Faculty of Medicine and volunteer doctors who help in the fight against Covid-19.
President Pendarovski stressed that he highly appreciates their overall volunteer engagement and their role in supporting the community and encouraged the volunteers to continue their activities.
“You are an example of solidarity and help. We have a lot to learn from you”, President Pendarovski told the volunteers, expressing gratitude for all the time they spend helping and contributing to the well-being of our society.
“With your voluntary contribution, you have shown that the lives of the people around you and especially those who need help the most can be changed”, the President said in the conversation with the volunteers.
The volunteers shared their experiences, needs and challenges they face in crisis situations, especially during a pandemic, and stressed the need to raise public awareness and support volunteering.
