President Stevo Pendarovski visited the exhibition of works by the renowned Macedonian sculptor, Petar Hadzi Boshkov, set in the archeological site Stobi, as part of the project entitled “Discovering the Future: Archeology of Modernity”.
The exhibition includes forty representative works from several creative phases of the author, covering a four-decade period from 1962 to 2004.
President Pendarovski expressed support and welcomed the overall concept of the project, which also contributes to the revival of Stobi, presentation and popularization of the site. “We must not allow the legacy of our internationally recognized artists to be forgotten. Given the greatness of Petar Hadzi Boshkov’s work, it is a privilege to look at works that have long been preserved and kept private”, President Pendarovski said during the tour of the exhibition.
The idea for an exhibition of sculptures by Petar Hadzi Boshkov at the archeological site Stobi stems from the program “Stobi – Living City”. The works are exhibited in several specific locations within the archeological site, representing the connection between modern and ancient values.
As part of the visit, the President also visited the depot, where the archeological artifacts found at Stobi were presented.
During the visit, the Director of NI Stobi, Spase Perovski, introduced President Pendarovski with the challenges and priorities of the archeological site, as well as the idea of building a museum complex.
