The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, visited today the Laboratory for Virology and Molecular Diagnostics at the Institute of Public Health.
During the visit, President Pendarovski was informed of the operations performed in the laboratory, which conducts tests for the presence of the COVID-19 virus.
President Pendarovski thanked for the hard work of the doctors and medical and technical staff, who, after the outbreak of the virus, are working at an accelerated pace and are at high risk in their work and congratulated them on their teamwork and sacrifice and their contribution to dealing with the consequences of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
“I came here to personally express my great gratitude on behalf of all our citizens for everything you do. Your professionalism and responsibility, commitment and calmness with which you perform your duties on a daily basis encourages. Please, take care of yourself, each one individually, and as a team and as a family”, President Pendarovski told the staff.
Laboratory staff, divided into three teams, processes 50 to 70 samples per rotation system every three hours.
President Pendarovski stressed the need to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory, which plays an important role in detecting and preventing the spread of the virus.
During the visit, President Pendarovski urged for consistent adherence to the recommendations of the competent institutions aimed at dealing with the consequences of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
