President Stevo Pendarovski visited today the National University Library “St. Clement of Ohrid” and got acquainted with the conditions and the work of this institution which collects, processes, protects and preserves the Macedonian cultural heritage.
President Pendarovski toured all reading rooms in the library and got acquainted with their conditions, visited the newly built part of the library, where he was presented with the Center for Digitization, and reviewed the Special Collections and the Virtual Library of Macedonia.
President Pendarovski met with the Director Jelisaveta Kostadinova and part of the management of NUL “St. Clement of Ohrid” and was informed of the work and current activities of the library, as well as the challenges that this institution is currently facing.
During the visit, President Pendarovski visited the exhibition “NUL Fund – Proof of Koneski’s versatility”, prepared by a team at the library, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Blaze Koneski’s birth, as well as the exhibition “Portraits”, prepared on the occasion of the patron saint holiday St. Clement of Ohrid.
The National University Library “St. Clement of Ohrid” in Skopje is one of the first institutions in our country, established by a decision of the Antifascist Assembly of the People’s Liberation of Macedonia, on 23 November 1944.
