President Stevo Pendarovski visited the Gostivar village of Tumchevishte today, as part of the “Face to Face with the President” project.
In Tumcevishte, President Pendarovski met and talked with the representatives of the local association of women farmers “Moja Farma” and their President, Zivka Gjurchinovska, who is the first woman registered as an individual farmer in this village.
At the meeting, which was also attended by representatives from the “Rural Coalition” association and the Agency for Agricultural Development Promotion, President Pendarovski was introduced to the support they receive from the state, as well as the challenges and problems they face in terms of placement. and purchase of agricultural products, the small number of purchase centers, as well as the poor infrastructure. In that direction, the women farmers informed President Pendarovski about their further plans, the working conditions as well as the need for greater gender-responsive budgeting in agriculture and rural development. In order to follow the modern processes, the women farmers emphasized that it is necessary to constantly invest in the modernization of production.
At the same time, President Pendarovski was informed about the activities of their association, in which about 50 women are members, the organizing of the event “Let’s Preserve the Tradition”, as well as the operation of their online store “Nasha tezga” as the first online market seling agricultural products and processed food in a traditional way, produced exclusively by women from rural areas.
