President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova addressed today the constitutive session of the Youth Council, which was established as an occasional working body in order to consider and analyze issues related to young people, youth policies and initiatives arising from the needs of young people in order to improve their position in society.
In her address, the President said that the Council opens another gate for young people, as an opportunity to hear their opinions, to criticize and advise. Emphasizing the expertise and competence of the members, she pointed out that the Council has human and creative potential to contribute to the creation of youth policies through its activities, ideas and proposals.
Pointing out that we all need to take care of the youth and make the country a decent place to live, she emphasized the need to prevent the ego-advancement of the youth by fighting the battle for the smartest and the most educated here. “Only if we manage the present we will be able to influence the future. Let us arrange the present according to the young people’s needs”, the president said at the session of the Council.
President Siljanovska Davkova encouraged the members of the Council to openly talk and discuss the problems and challenges the society faces, to find creative solutions and make suggestions to overcome them.
At the constitutive session, the Rules of Procedure were adopted and future events and activities were discussed.
The President of the Youth Council, Lina Rangelova, expressed her expectation that the Council will play an essential role and that they will jointly build a space where their ideas will be turned into actions. The members thanked for the opportunity, honor and trust shown to be part of the Youth Council and expressed their willingness to contribute to the creation of quality youth policies.
