President Siljanovska Davkova welcomes the winners of the 37th Ohrid Swimming Marathon and awards the trophies

President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova welcomed the winners of the 37th Ohrid Swimming Marathon, whose patron is the President of the country.

In the men’s competition, Matheus Evangelista from Brazil was the first to reach the finish line in 5 hours, 45 minutes and 5 seconds, while Caroline Jouisse from France is the winner in the women’s competition, who swam the “Klime Savin” track in 5 hours 46 minutes and 51 seconds.

Awarding the trophies to this year’s winners of the Ohrid Marathon, President Siljanovska Davkova congratulated the first-placed swimmers and all the other competitors of the marathon, wishing them good health and many more sporting successes.

Earlier, the President visited the workshop of high school students from “St. Cyril and Methodius” School from Ohrid, which is held during the Ohrid Swimming Marathon, on the Lake Ohrid quay.

The young people introduced the President to their annual project activities aimed at protecting the ecosystem and endemic species in Lake Ohrid and exchanged opinions with her about their creative ideas and commitments in view of taking urgent measures to protect the environment and the unique ecosystem of Lake Ohrid.

Nineteen swimmers from nine countries participated in this year’s edition of the Ohrid Swimming Marathon, eleven in men’s and eight in women’s competition.
