President Stevo Pendarovski, together with his wife, Elizabeta Gjorgievska, and members of the Cabinet today prepared food for homeless and socially disadvantaged, in support of the long-standing activity of the informal civic initiative “Retweet a Meal”.
This is the third joint activity of the President’s Cabinet and “Retweet a Meal”, whereas 300 meals have been prepared so far. For today’s preparation of hot meals, a donation of groceries has been provided for the first time, and according to the upcoming Easter holidays, the menu includes lean food.
Welcoming the activities of “Retweet a Meal” so far, President Pendarovski pointed out that caring for the most vulnerable categories of citizens is especially important in this difficult period of pandemic, when many of our fellow citizens are facing existential problems.
The President’s wife stressed that it is important to maintain continuity in joint activities, especially due to the growing need for solidarity meals caused by the health and economic crisis imposed by the pandemic, and expressed hope for greater involvement of as many people and donors in this humanitarian action.
The civic initiative “Retweet a Meal” together with the association “True Acts of Kindness” has been helping socially disadvantaged people for six years. Both organizations were part of the humanitarian action initiated by the Cabinet of President Pendarovski “We Volunteer for a Solidarity Society”.
