President Stevo Pendarovski received today Richard Nephew, Coordinator on Global Anti-Corruption of the US State Department.
The meeting discussed current topics related to the fight against corruption and the country’s efforts to establish efficient system for prevention of corruption and conflict of interests.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski said that the fight against crime and corruption, at every level, including high corruption, is of exceptional importance in the efforts to build the rule of law and increase citizens’ trust in the institutions.
President Pendarovski emphasized the readiness of the country, in accordance with the national priorities, to continue the cooperation with the USA in the efforts to suppress corruption, in function of promoting democratic processes in the country by enabling good governance and the rule of law.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski stressed that the Republic of North Macedonia highly appreciates the support and assistance it receives from the United States in its efforts to improve the rule of law and the fight against corruption, and expressed the expectation that it will continue its support in terms of capacity building.
