President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received a group of US citizens led by Mike Zafirovski, who are on pilgrimage in the country as of today.
Expressing immense gratitude for the reception, the prominent and respected members of the US society introduced the President to the motive and inspiration for visiting the country, as one of their three pilgrimage destinations, alongside Greece and Turkiye, pointing out that they see Macedonia as a spiritual and cultural treasury with a rich tradition and historical heritage.
Welcoming their choice for pilgrimage, Siljanovska-Davkova wished them success and expressed confidence that they would take home unforgettable memories and impressions of the authenticity of the country and especially of Ohrid, as part of the biblical and civilizational mosaic. As members of the Episcopal Church, which enjoys great reputation in the US society, the President believes that with their mission, recognizing diversity and promoting peace and faith, they will contribute to strengthening the values of solidarity, tolerance and spiritual unity.
Siljanovska-Davkova pointed to the important role of the Macedonian diaspora in building close ties between the American and Macedonian society, as an added value to our strategic partnership with the United States.
She expressed gratitude to Mike Zafirovski for his constant ties with the homeland, his efforts through “Macedonia 2025” to affirm and promote the country, and his dedication to projects that stimulate the growth of the Macedonian economy.
The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the current situation in the world and heard the President’s views on the global challenges and problems facing the country in terms of foreign policy.
