President Stevo Pendarovski received today Aleksa Becic, President of the Assembly of Montenegro.
The meeting expressed satisfaction with the development of overall bilateral relations based on traditional friendship, respect and understanding and reaffirmed the strong commitment of both countries to strengthen and promote cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, especially in the economic field where there is great potential.
The interlocutors stressed that the two countries share identical foreign policy goals and visions, and with the alliance in NATO significantly contribute to ensuring lasting peace, stability and prosperity throughout the region.
Emphasizing the need for further intensification of inter-parliamentary cooperation, President Pendarovski stressed that North Macedonia highly appreciates the opportunity to exchange experience with Montenegro in order to achieve a common strategic commitment, membership in the European Union.
In this context, referring to the forthcoming General Affairs Council of the European Union, President Pendarovski stressed the importance of treating the integration of the Western Balkan countries as one of the key strategic and geopolitical priorities within the Union, as an additional impetus for the reform process in our states.
