The 19th session of the Security Council was held today, where the security situation in the country and the Euro-Atlantic region was discussed.
In addition to the members of the Security Council, the Director of the National Security Agency and the Director of the Intelligence Agency attended the session, at the invitation of President Pendarovski.
The competent representatives of the institutions informed about the current security issues related to the country and the wider region, including the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the developments in the Middle East and the situation in the north of the Republic of Kosovo.
Regarding the security situation in the country, it was assessed that it is stable and that there are no indications of a possible threat thereto.
As a member of NATO, the Republic of North Macedonia is in regular coordination with the Alliance and the allies regarding activities undertaken to strengthen the security in the Euro-Atlantic area.
The session of the Security Council established the need for competent institutions to continue to monitor the situation and prepare possible scenarios according to the development of events, with the aim of timely taking measures and activities within their competence.
