President Stevo Pendarovski received today the leadership of the Special Olympics for Europe and Eurasia and of the Special Olympics of North Macedonia.
The meeting discussed the ongoing activities of Special Olympics, which supports more than 5 million athletes, 1 million coaches and volunteers, more than 100,000 competitions annually and 32 Olympic-type sports through programs in more than 190 countries.
The interlocutors introduced President Pendarovski to the implementation dynamics of the project “Social inclusion and strengthening of youth through sports”, which should give a positive impulse to the increased involvement of people with disabilities and promotion of inclusive education.
President Pendarovski expressed his unreserved support for this long-standing noble commitment of the Special Olympics, which contributes, through sports, to encourage their comprehensive inclusion in the social flows, enabling them to express their affinities and individual qualities.
The meeting was attended by David S. Evangelista and Marta Jo Brajcic from Special Olympics for Europe and Eurasia, as well as by Monika Boskoska and Dragan Karadzovski from Special Olympics of North Macedonia.
