Today in New York, on the sidelines of the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations, President Stevo Pendarovski held a bilateral meeting with the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulidis.
At the meeting, relations between the two countries were discussed, with the two presidents stating that after the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2019, opportunities for developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest are opening up.
President Pendarovski thanked for the continuous support from Cyprus on our path to European integration and expressed his expectation that it will continue. The interlocutors also agreed to strengthen cooperation in multilateral forums, especially mutual support for candidacies.
The meeting also discussed the economic relations between the two countries, where the interlocutors pledged to promote economic cooperation, increase the volume of trade in the areas of agriculture and food industry, tourism, banking and finance. In that context, the presidents expressed interest in holding a Business Forum between the two countries.
