At a ceremony with the highest state and military honors, President Stevo Pendarovski today welcomed the President of the Republic of Latvia, Egils Levits, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia.
The two presidents held a tete-a-tete meeting, which was followed by a plenary meeting of the two delegations.
The talks focus on bilateral relations, EU enlargement policy, security challenges in the wider neighborhood in the context of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine and other current geopolitical issues.
President Pendarovski expressed his gratitude for the continuous and principled Latvian support for the implementation of the country’s foreign policy priorities, pointing to the Baltic countries as an excellent example for transformation of the societies through the European integration process. Euro-Atlantic integration in the Western Balkans brings security for the continent, as is the case with the Baltic region, Pendarovski said.
After the plenary meeting of the delegations, the two presidents are scheduled to hold a joint press conference at 11:20.
