Ladies and Gentlemen,
Below you will read the position of President Stevo Pendarovski on the Russian invasion on Ukraine:
“I strongly condemn the military actions that Russia is taking against Ukraine, which will unavoidably lead to irreparable human loss and material damage. The Russian invasion on Ukraine is an attack on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, blatant violation of the basic principles of international law, attack on the democratic order and a threat to the stability of Europe.
Being a NATO member we join the Alliance’s call on Russia to end the military actions on Ukraine’s territory.
On behalf of the citizens of North Macedonia, I express solidarity with the Ukrainian people in these difficult times.”
President Stevo Pendarovski convened a session of the Security Council today (24 February 2022) to discuss Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
The Session will be held in the Cabinet of the President starting at 14:00.
A press release of the Security Council conclusions, as well as photo and video material from the Session will be distributed by the Cabinet of the President after the Session.
