Ceremonial change of the national flag was held today in the Cabinet of President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, which was attended by children from the kindergartens “Veseli cvetovi” and “Srnicka” from Skopje, students from the Skopje elementary schools “Kuzman Sapkarev” and “Kuzman Josifovski Pitu” and children and representatives of the Association for Education and Research “Nesil”.
After the ceremony, about 230 children, accompanied by about 20 teachers and representatives, toured the premises of the Cabinet. The young visitors showed interest in the work of the President. They asked her: How does it feel to be the first female president of the country? Is it harder to be a president or a professor? How does a working day look like? The curious guests expressed a desire to learn about her personal affinities, as well as interesting memories from her youth.
Siljanovska-Davkova told them that holding a political office requires knowledge, dedication and a culture of dialogue. She advised them to study, think critically and make friends.
The children presented her with flowers, a drawing album and a thank-you note in Turkish.
The ceremonial change of the flag is held every second Friday of the month, with the participation of the Honors Battalion of the Macedonian Army and symbolizes respect for the flag and the state.
