The Wife of the President, Elizabeta Gjorgievska, visited today the National Kitchen in the municipality of Suto Orizari and got acquainted with the implementation of the initiative of this municipality for preparation and distribution of hot meals to socially vulnerable categories of citizens.
In the kitchen, which is part of the “April 8” kindergarten, two meals are prepared daily for about 200 families, and, since its opening in December 2020 until today, about 40,000 hot meals have been prepared.
Gjorgievska welcomed this initiative, saying that in this crisis period when many of our fellow citizens are facing existential challenges, it is of particular importance to share care for the most vulnerable categories of citizens.
The municipality of Suto Orizari allocates funds for the implementation of the activities in the National Kitchen, and the initiative is supported by socially responsible companies and individuals. All parties involved voluntarily support the operation of the kitchen, while the administration of the local self-government is involved in the distribution of meals.
