Farewell meeting of President Pendarovski with the British Ambassador Galloway

President Stevo Pendarovski held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Rachel Galloway.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the overall bilateral relations between North Macedonia and the United Kingdom, as well as on the current situation in the wider region.

President Pendarovski stressed at the meeting that North Macedonia attaches special importance to the development of bilateral relations with the United Kingdom, including NATO cooperation. It was concluded at the meeting that in the past 4 years the relations between the two countries continued to strengthen. President Pendarovski stressed that with NATO membership we have become allies who jointly oppose global challenges.

President Pendarovski said that our country especially appreciates the support of the United Kingdom in fulfilling the strategic aspirations of the country and thanked for the continuous support from our independence until today.

At the meeting, opinions and information were exchanged on the current situation regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the overall consequences for the European continent. In this context, President Pendarovski stressed that it is extremely important for the United Kingdom to continue developing relations with Western Balkan countries. President Pendarovski pointed out that North Macedonia, within its capabilities, will continue to support Ukraine.

President Pendarovski thanked Ambassador Galloway for her diplomatic engagement and contribution to the development of the Macedonian-British relations and wished her further success, both personally and professionally.
