President Stevo Pendarovski visited today the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia at the invitation of the President of the Court, Dobrila Kacarska.
During the visit, which was attended by the President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, and the Prime Minister, Dimitar Kovacevski, President Pendarovski was acquainted with the current activities of the Constitutional Court and the challenges in its work.
The President of the Court pointed out the problems with the lack of staff, and also presented the technical conditions for the work of the Court and the need to improve them.
Several initiatives regarding the fulfillment of the Court’s competencies were presented at the meeting, including the possibility of introducing a constitutional lawsuit by expanding the competencies of the Constitutional Court.
President Pendarovski stressed the need to soon overcome the challenges in the work of the Constitutional Court, pointing out that it is in everyone’s interest for the Constitutional Court to work in full composition, with full capacity and in appropriate technical conditions.
