Video conversation between the First Ladies of North Macedonia and Poland

The Wife of the President, Ms. Elizabeta Gjorgievska, had a video conversation today with the First Lady of Poland, Ms. Agatha Kornhauser-Duda, and discussed the options for cooperation and mutual support in the assistance that is provided to the Ukrainian citizens leaving Ukraine due to military aggression by Russia.

The interlocutors exchanged information on the latest events in Ukraine and the engagement of various institutions from both countries in the reception and acceptance of Ukrainian citizens. Ms. Gjorgievska welcomed the commitment of Ms. Agatha Kornhauser-Duda in the context of the initiatives she is taking, adding that any activity that helps alert the world public to the seriousness of the situation of the Ukrainian citizens and appeals for help is necessary and should be supported.

Ms. Gjorgievska informed that the Ministry of Health has expressed readiness to admit oncology patients, Ukrainian citizens currently in Poland, namely children under 18, for whom treatment can be offered in our public health facilities. Additionally, the interlocutors discussed the possibility of admitting people with atypical development, who could receive care and accommodation in the institutions and families in the country.

At the end of the conversation, Ms. Gjorgievska expressed her gratitude to Ms. Kornhauser-Duda for the initiatives taken to help vulnerable categories of Ukrainian citizens and expressed hope that communication and cooperation would continue.
