President Stevo Pendarovski addressed the participants and organizers of the 31st annual world meeting of the International Association “Kangaroo without Borders” in Ohrid, under the auspices of the President, via a video message.
Being the patron of the 31 st Annual World Meeting of the International Association “Kangaroo without Borders” is a special honor and great pleasure for me. It is undoubtedly a significant event that represents a kind of a pillar of the activities implemented by “Kangaroo without Borders” that indeed deserves due attention and respect. Considering the fact that due to previously undertaken obligations I am not able to be with you in Ohrid, I take this opportunity to address you via video message.
There is no need to talk about the importance of mathematics as one of the basic sciences out of which many other sciences are further developed. Thanks to your competitions, you have so far instilled the love of mathematics in millions of children around the world. What is the added value of the Kangaroo competitions is that, in addition to mathematical knowledge and skills, they also develop the participants’ cognitive abilities and stimulate their logical thinking.
In this way, apart from expanding knowledge and instilling affinity towards solving mathematical problems, it also contributes to shaping the thinking processes of young people, and, of course, to strengthening their competitive spirit. That is why you deserve all the praise.
In this video address, I would like to extend sincere congratulations to the Union of Mathematicians of Macedonia “Armaganka”, as the representative of our country in “Kangaroo without Borders”, for the dedicated work and engagement in organizing the meeting, but also for all current activities related to the organization of Kangaroo competitions in our country. I wish you to continue to work motivated and achieve success with young Macedonian mathematicians.
In conclusion, let me, once again, wish you a successful event, further advancement of “Kangaroo without Borders” and, of course, a pleasant stay in the Macedonian pearl, Ohrid.
