President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova sent a message to the President of the Jewish Community, Pepo Levi, and to all its members, on the occasion of the celebration of the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur.
Dear All,
Allow me to wish all the members of the Jewish community in Macedonia the holiest Jewish holiday – Yom Kippur, to spend it in peace and harmony, in good health and in joy and love.
Celebrating the feast of repentance and redemption, with prayer and fasting, testifies the deep and living spirituality of the Jewish people. We are proud that, although small, the Jewish community in Macedonia essentially contributes to our society by preserving its own traditions and strengthening common values, coexistence and community.
Let us avoid the vortex of global geopolitical temptations and overcome domestic obstacles. Let us remain united in solidarity by tirelessly working for the prosperity and progress of our homeland.
I end my message with the traditional Yom Kippur greeting – G’mar chatima tova.
