President Stevo Pendarovski received today Zef Mazi, Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Albania with the European Union.
At the meeting, opinions and information were exchanged on the prospects for recent holding of the intergovernmental conference for the two countries and the formal start of the accession negotiations of the Republic of North Macedonia and of Albania with the European Union.
President Pendarovski assessed that the visit is a good opportunity to exchange views on issues at the technical and political level related to the negotiation process, as well as to open perspectives for future cooperation in that area.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski praised Albania’s progress in key EU integration areas.
President Pendarovski expressed confidence that the start of membership negotiations of North Macedonia and of Albania will have a positive impact on the stability and prosperity of the entire region and expressed hope that the application of the new negotiation methodology will facilitate the accession negotiation process.
