Commission on Awarding Decorations and Recognitions

Based on his constitutional competencies, the President awards decorations and recognitions in accordance with the law. For that purpose, a Commission on Awarding Decorations and Recognitions is established.

The Commission on Awarding Decorations and Recognitions is a permanent working body of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, consisted of a President and members appointed by the President from among distinguished individuals and representatives of related state bodies and organizations, citizen’s associations, scientific, expert and other institutions.

President of the Commission on Awarding Decorations and Recognitions of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia is Marjan Gjurovski; members of the Commission are, Darko Pancev, Biljana Peeva-Gjuric, Vesna Ginovska Ilkova, Miroslav Stojanovski, Amernis Jovanovska Nokshiqi, Academician Gazanfer Bajram, Biljana Georgievska-Spasovska, Petrit Saraqini and Demiri Bejtula.

The Commission works on the basis of the provisions of the Law on Awarding Decorations and Recognitions of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The initiatives for awarding decorations and recognitions are submitted to the Commission on Awarding Decorations and Recognitions of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia. The Commission reviews the submitted initiatives at a session and, on the basis of expert analysis, decides about the validity of the requests contained in the initiatives. The Commission, in the end, submits proposals to President Pendarovski to award appropriate decoration or recognition.
