President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova was part of the solemn celebration of the great Christian holiday of the Epiphany in Ohrid and Struga, where Metropolitan Georgij of Debar and Kicevo blessed the waters of Lake Ohrid and the Black Drim River, placing the holy cross therein.
Guided by strong faith in the grace of the blessed water and the centuries-old custom that symbolizes the baptism of Jesus Christ, a large number of believers participated in this holy act, with prayer and hope for spiritual purification.
The President congratulated Martin Godzo, who managed to take the holy cross from the Ohrid Lake waters. She presented him with a Pafta, a bridal belt, from Galichnik from the 19th century, sending him sincere wishes for good health and personal happiness.
In Struga, the happiest among the participants who entered the consecrated waters, Petar Chakareski, received a Pafta, a bridal belt, from Bitola from the 19th century, as a gift from the president, and wishes for health, joy and well-being. Siljanovska-Davkova said that Epiphany carries a clear message of spiritual renewal, unity and unwavering faith, uniting many generations of believers throughout time.
