Today’s guests in the Cabinet of the President were students from the elementary schools “Mirce Acev” from the municipality of Gjorche Petrov and “Braka Miladinovci” from the municipality of Aerodrom, as well as the children from the kindergarten “Veseli Cvetovi” from the municipality of Kisela Voda.
Together with their teachers, they attended the ceremonial changing of the national flag, which takes place every second Friday of the month, implemented by the Honor Battalion of the Macedonian Army and is an act of paying tribute to the Macedonian flag as a symbol of the state.
The children had the opportunity to visit the working premises where meetings and events are held. In a conversation with them, inspired by the songs they sang, dedicated to the homeland, the city of Skopje and the sun, the President said that children are our sun, our moon and our stars.
“You are our life and our future. When I see you singing and rejoicing today, I am very happy too”, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova said.
Speaking about the Macedonian flag, she pointed out that the red color represents the struggle, and the yellow sun is the Macedonian sun, which warms the country. “Where the flag is, there is the country, there is the homeland. Sometimes the flag as a symbol says much more than words. We should respect our symbols, because they are unique, ours, Macedonian”, she added.
In a sincere and open conversation, the children asked her many questions related not only to her professional engagement, but also to her private life. They were curious about her hobbies, her favorite color, food and flowers, as well as the responsibilities that come with the position of President.
