President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received today Prof. Dr. Vladimir Martinovski, Dean of the Faculty of Philology “Blaze Koneski” and Prof. Dr. Atanas Koneski, representative of the Cultural and Educational Center “Nebregovo”, named after Koneski’s birthplace.
The professors informed her about the activities undertaken in connection with the celebration of 80 years since the standardization of the Macedonian literary language, as well as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Philology in Skopje.
They both argued for the commitment to amend the Law on State Awards in order to add the “Blaze Koneski” and “Remzi Nesimi” awards.
For them, the best time to present the awards is December, when both were born: Koneski on the 19th, and Nesimi on the 25th.
They proudly point out that both were professors at the Faculty of Philology and what Koneski is to the Macedonian language and Macedonian studies, Nesimi is to the Albanian language and Albanology.
Siljanovska-Davkova is convinced that the MPs will recognize this noble idea and will vote the Law Amending the Law on State Awards with a large majority.
For her, Koneski and Nesimi are spiritual giants of the Macedonian and Albanian languages, whose names should have long since symbolized top achievements in belletristic writings.
