President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met today in Villa Biljana in Ohrid with the Macedonian athlete on middle and long distances, the marathon runner Dario Ivanovski, who will compete tomorrow in the 8th edition of the Athletic Weekend “Ohrid TrcaT”.
President Siljanovska Davkova congratulated the best Macedonian athlete, Dario Ivanovski, and his trainer, Major Igor Jakimovski, for qualifying for the Summer Olympic Games in Paris this year.
Ivanovski informed the President of the course of the preparations for the performance at the Olympics in Paris.
The President said that the successes of the Macedonian athletes are a great pride for the entire nation and it is necessary to take care of our most successful representatives in every field. Noting that sports and physical culture are one of the most important factors for the health of the nation, for internal cohesion and external promotion of the state, she wished Ivanovski much success at the Olympic Games, as well as in his future career.
Ivanovski is one of the best Balkan athletes with a large number of Macedonian and Balkan records and for now he is the only Macedonian athlete with a confirmed participation at the Summer Olympic Games.
