President Siljanovska Davkova receives the Lithuanian conductor and violinist Julian Rachlin, who will perform at the opening of the “Ohrid Summer” Festival

President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, received today at Villa Biljana in Ohrid, the leadership of the Macedonian international music and stage event “Ohrid Summer” Festival and the Lithuanian conductor and violinist Julian Rachlin, who will perform at tonight’s opening ceremony of the 64th edition.

Wishing a welcome and successful performance to the renowned artist from Lithuania, President Siljanovska Davkova was informed of Rachlin’s impressive and long-standing international musical career and expressed her pleasure that a top and sought-after artist in all the world’s meridians will perform together with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra at the opening ceremony of this significant musical event.

The President expressed her expectation that with their performance the artists will leave a special mark and a strong impression on this year’s edition of “Ohrid Summer” Festival. She expressed confidence that the rich artistic repertoire of the upcoming festival evenings will satisfy the musical appetites of the domestic and international audience.

At the meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Zoran Ljutkov, as well as the Director of the National Institution “Ohrid Summer: festival, Natasa Popović, and the selectors Bisera Cadlovska and Sanja Arsovska, President Siljanovska Davkova said that “Ohrid Summer” festival, as one of the most recognizable and the highest quality cultural events in the wider region, has a serious stake in the Macedonian culture and the international affirmation of the country.
