The President and Supreme Commander of the Army, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, spoke to the Macedonian peacekeepers today at the “Strašo Pindzur” barracks in Petrovec, via video conference.
In the presence of their families, she thanked the members of the Army, who are on duty in Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lebanon, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria and Germany, for the successful performance of difficult tasks and the proud representation of the Macedonian Army and state.
Emphasizing their competitiveness with colleagues from other countries and armies, she said: “The fact is that wherever you are, whether you are in the area, whether you are in Bulgaria, whether you are in Kosovo or much further away, you perform your work there in the most professional manner, side by side with all your colleagues”.
For her, the great trust of the Macedonian citizens in the Army, at home or abroad, stems from the expertise, competence, discipline and dedication of the Macedonian soldiers.
Siljanovska-Davkova wished them good health and a speedy return among their loved ones.
In a cheerful, pre-New Year atmosphere, filled with children’s chatter and joy from the company of Santa Claus and favorite cartoon characters, the President, the Minister of Defense and the Chief of General Staff distributed New Year’s packages to the smiling children of peacekeepers and the children of employees of the Ministry of Defense, wishing them a Happy New Year 2026!
