The Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sasko Lafciski, reported to the President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, on the activities carried out in 2025, the level of equipment of the Army and the level of combat readiness.
He provided a comprehensive analysis of the situation in the Army regarding the military and civilian personnel, training, exercises, operations, military planning, force structure, as well as regarding the modernization and budgeting of the Army.
The President was also briefed on the Army’s support to state institutions in times of crisis.
Siljanovska-Davkova was informed of the national exercise “Blesok 26”, which is a test of the combat readiness of the Light Infantry Battalion Group (LPBG), in accordance with the NATO standards.
According to the President, the briefing once again assured her that, not by chance, that the Macedonian Army is one of the most stable and reliable pillars of the state and a significant factor in regional and collective security.
According to Siljanovska-Davkova, the enhanced cooperation with NATO allies and the successful participation in missions and exercises in the country and abroad confirm the credibility and international reputation of the Macedonian Army.
The President pointed out the importance of meritocracy in the recruitment of army structures, pointing out that a strong and efficient army can only be built by people with proven abilities.
The briefing on the combat readiness of the Army was attended by the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, and generals in the Army.
